We (four Austrians aged 33 - 60) spent last august five days with Jim on Vancover Island and had a sensational time together. Due to the fact that we all weren´t experienced fishermen, we´ve been very curious if the fishing license will pay out for us somehow, but far wrong - each of us caught our limits of salmons per trip (altogether we went fishing three times) and we also had really good "fights" with the cohos and chinooks ;) Not only the fishing in this picturesque setting was unbelievable beautiful, but also the tours in this huge wideness of nature, where we grilled and ate the selfcaught salmons and prwns on the campfire. On top the intervisibility with real bears and whales are inextinguishable travel experiences, you can find in this part of the world for sure. So personaly I can recommend a trip to vancouver island generally and the tours with Wildrun Charters especially with the company of Jim without restrictions, he even has storys of him in Vienna!!

Wir (vier Männer aus Österreich zwischen 33 und 60 Jahren) waren letzten August 5 Tage bei Jim auf Vancover Island und haben eine Wahnsinnszeit gehabt. Nachdem wir alle keine sehr erfahrenen Fischer sind, waren wir sehr gespannt, ob sich die Angellizenz für uns überhaupt lohnen würde, aber weit gefehlt - wir haben jeder mindestens drei Lachse pro Trip (insgesamt waren wir dreimal mit dem Boot draussen) herausgezogen und dabei auch wirklich gute "Fights" mit den Cohos gehabt ;) aber nicht nur das fischen in der malerischen Umgebung war unglaublich, sondern auch die Ausflüge in diese riesigen Weiten der Natur, wo wir die selbstgefangengen Lachse und Shrimps am Lagerfeuer verzehrt haben. Aber auch der Sichtkontakt mit echten Bären und Walen sind unauslöschliche Reiseerfahrungen, die man in dieser Ecke der Welt mit großer Sicherheit erleben darf. Ich kann daher einen Trip nach Vancouver Island und die Touren mit Wildrun Charters insbesonders in Gesellschaft von Jim uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

I could never put in words the breath-taking views we enjoyed through Quatsino Sound, nor the adrenaline that was pumped through our bodies when we caught our first Coho! I took a 1 day fishing charter with Jim it was great, got a 67 lb halibut, and my first tyee spring salmon. Had lots of laughs. I will be back next year for a three day, already booked. See ya then Jim.

I took my 10 year old son for his birthday out for the day with Jim. Had lots of fun, my son caught his first salmon and after we had caught our limit Jim took us to a spot for black bass. Was so much fun, on the way home my son said " thanks for the best birthday dad " that made my year. Thanks again for that Jim.

I went out with Jim on a two day fly fishing for coho salmon up to 18 lbs, they hit hard, fun fights, amazing time. had the best crab feast, and Jim did these amazing ginger prawns. Coming back next year with my two sons, going to make it an anual thing. Great fun, thanks Jim.

Thanks so much Jim, my sons couldn't stop talking about you on the way home. We caught lots of fish, kids loved catching those black cod, as well as the salmon. It seemed the black cod where always on their line, and every so often they would hook a ling cod and think ot was a monster. Good laughs. The beach bbq lunch was a great way to break things up. We couldn't believe we spotted 3 different whales in 2 days.
